The Tuudo app has been renewed. You can start using the new version by updating it as usual in your app store. In the updated Tuudo, you will find all the familiar services except for the public transport section.
The Tuudo app has been helping make students’ everyday lives easier for 10 years. Although the old app improved a lot over the years, Tuudo’s backend system and user interface were inevitably reaching the end of their technical lifespan. We understood that in order to continue meeting students’ needs in the future, Tuudo had to be renewed — both inside and out.
Background of the renewal
Development of the new Tuudo app began in autumn 2024. We didn’t want to update the app just for the sake of updating; Tuudo was nearing the end of its technical usability, and its interface no longer met modern standards. The goal was to create a Tuudo that looks and feels modern yet familiar, and that serves students and all stakeholders even better.
From the very beginning, it was clear that we wouldn’t get far without help from students. We recruited student testers through Tuudo from different institutions and formed a test group that took part in every stage of the app’s development. We also took into account feedback from user surveys conducted over the years — meaning everyone who has responded has contributed to the creation of the new Tuudo.
The biggest changes
You will find all the services you are used to using in the app, except for the public transport section, which has been removed in the new version. The appearance of Tuudo has undergone a major change. With the update, the much-requested dark mode becomes available — in fact, it is now the default mode. If you prefer, you can still switch to light mode.
With the new bottom navigation and the homepage widget carousel, you can now move between views more quickly. Tuudo still includes the main menu, where you can access all Tuudo services offered by your institution.
The “Student Benefits” view and the “Jobs and Internships” section have been updated to better meet students’ wishes. The benefits view now shows more clearly when a benefit is about to expire, how long it is valid, and which benefits are new. You can filter benefits by category and mark them as favorites or redeemed. A new “Highlights” feature — similar to Stories on social media — has been added to both Jobs & Internships and Benefits. Through Highlights, you can get additional information, for example from benefit providers or employers.
Possible issues
The Tuudo renewal should not cause service downtime, but large updates always involve some uncertainty. We thank you in advance for your patience — at first, there may be small bugs in the app, but we will fix them as quickly as possible. Why can’t I download the new Tuudo?
The new Tuudo requires at least Android 7 or iOS 15. If your device uses an older operating system, unfortunately it cannot support the latest version of Tuudo.
