Call it what you want – we’ve heard it all!
Todoo, Tuudu, Tuudi, Tuubo… We’ve heard them all! But Tuudo wasn’t always Tuudo. When the idea of a student app was born at the University of Oulu in 2010 and turned into a real project in 2015, it went by the name Aapo. Where the name Tuudo eventually came from (and what it really means), we can only guess! After all, in Portuguese tuudo means “everything,” and in Chinese, it apparently means “potato.”

There are currently 19 of us at Tuudo, working from two cities. Our headquarters in Oulu and a smaller office in Helsinki.

Tuudo’s story
Why Tuudo Exists?
Whatever the name — Aapo or Tuudo — the reason for its creation was, and still is, the same: a genuine need for a student app that makes students’ lives easier. Even ten years ago, the goal was to remove obstacles to studying and help students progress faster.
At first, Aapo was only meant to include study records, course registration, timetables, and notifications. Today, Tuudo has grown into a comprehensive companion for student life and everyday studies.
